Chess & Cappuccino 4.0
Last month we hosted chess & cappuccino 4.0 alongside CafeOne, and it was the biggest chess event we've had. About 100 gentlemen and ladies showed up to network, discuss about strategy, and play chess games while sipping a drink and having fun.

Chess & Cappuccino corporate edition
On October 25th/2026, we would be organizing the corporate edition of the chess & cappuccino events. This event would bring several major companies in Nigeria for an afternoon of chess. The theme is titled "Systems", with the goal centered on enabling company reps adopt chess mental models that enables them to improve their operations globally. We have exciting speakers lined up, and more information would be released in the coming weeks.
Also, please note that attendance for the corporate edition is restricted to invited companies and their representatives. The general public edition would be held in December 2026.
Partnership with ChessinSlums & ChesstoSchool
We also partnered with ChessinSlums during their summer chess program to bring Laddr to their students, granting them premium access to accelerate their improvement and progress.
ChesstoSchool students were granted a 1 year laddr premium membership to assist them fully in the long-term to keep improving and growing. We are really excited about this, and we love the noble work they do which is transforming many lives through the game of chess.
Deborah plays Grandmasters
WFM Deborah Quickpen, one of Laddr's talented athletes, played at the WR Chess tour African leg last week. She was paired against Grandmaster Zhu Jiner, one of the strongest female chess players in the world. Although she lost the game in the quarter-finals, it was a great experience for her.
If you have any questions, please let us know, do have a great week!
